Composite Group Opened Strategic Cooperation Directions at China Composite Expo 2023
Russian company held 23 meetings with partners and laid the foundation for establishing three joint ventures in China
Shanghai, China – From September 12 to 14, 2023, Composite Group participated in Asia's largest specialized composite materials exhibition, China Composite Expo 2023, with its own booth. The event, which brought together approximately 800 participants across more than 60,000 square meters, became an important milestone for expanding the international presence of Russian composite technologies in the dynamically developing Chinese market.
Large-Scale Business Program
During the three-day exhibition, the Composite Group team conducted 23 targeted meetings with representatives of Chinese industrial companies and attracted 106 new clients, which became a record indicator among all the company's international events. The high interest in Russian technologies confirmed the competitiveness of Composite Group's solutions in composite rebar production, industrial equipment, and specialized products for the mining industry.
Strategic Partnerships
Key negotiations began at the exhibition, which subsequently led to significant results. Discussions were initiated on creating a joint venture for producing thin-diameter composite rebar, as well as a JV for manufacturing specialized equipment. Both initiatives progressed: on May 17, 2024, during the Russia-China EXPO in Harbin, memorandums of understanding were signed for establishing both enterprises.
Special attention was paid to negotiations on supplies of finished products – composite anchors and mine support systems, as well as equipment for their production. The parties agreed to conduct joint experiments to enhance the technical characteristics of the products. Throughout 2024, two cycles of experimental production and testing were successfully implemented, resulting in improved operational characteristics of the products, confirming the effectiveness of Russian-Chinese technological partnership.
Industrial Tour and Localization Prospects
As part of the business program, Composite Group representatives visited leading Chinese manufacturing enterprises. They toured a plant producing finished products from carbon and fiberglass fabrics and prepregs, the site of a future thin-diameter rebar production facility, and an industrial equipment manufacturing plant. Additionally, partners showed the site for placing future Composite Group equipment production and a plant for industrial equipment for temperature generation and control, opening prospects for technology transfer and production localization.
